Learn Quran with Tajweed Course - Beginners to Advance

  1. Beginner Level

Learning Objective: The beginner level introduces students to the foundation of Quranic recitation, focusing on the most basic rules of Tajweed and its practice on Noorani Qaida. At this stage, students start by learning the basics rules of tajweed, which is an essential step for any beginner. The Noorani Qaida with Tajweed teaches students how to pronounce Arabic letters and their diacritic marks.

Syllabus Outline:

  • Recognition of 5 Makharij (vocal points) i.e. Jawf, Halq, Lisan, Shafatan, and Khayshoom and their rules.
  • Recognizing and pronouncing Arabic letters
  • Understanding the sound of short vowels and long vowels.
  • Learning and practicing Sukun (silent diacritic), Tanween (nunation), Shaddah (gemination) and madd (elongation).
  • Learning and practicing the letters with Laam Shamsiyyah الشمس and Laam Qamariyyah القمر
  • Learning pronunciation of Hamza as glottal stop (diacritic over or under letters).

Practice: Daily recitation of small Surahs. Practice identifying letters and vowels in short verses.

Duration: 40 Hours required

Timeframe:Around 3-4 months, depending on the child’s age, pace and consistency in learning.

By the end of the beginner level, students should be able to recite short surahs and verses with a basic understanding of Tajweed rules.

  1. Intermediate Level

Learning Objective: Once the foundational rules are mastered, students move on to the intermediate level, which delves deeper into Tajweed principles. Here, they learn more complex rules that govern Quranic recitation.

Syllabus Outline:

  • Nasalization rules of noon sakin Izhar, Idghaam, Iqlaab, and Ikhfaa.
  • Nasalization rules of meem sakin Izhar-e-shafwi, Idghaam-e-shafwi, and Ikhfa-e-shafwi.
  • Nasalization rules of Tanween.
  • Proper application of madd (elongation) rules, including the different types of madds such as Madd al-Munfassil, Madd al-Muttasil, and Madd e Lazim. Focus on when and how to extend sounds by four to six counts.
  • Advanced articulation rules (Makharij al-Huruf), focusing on emitting of letters from these letters and the pronunciation of difficult letters.
  • Rules for stopping (Waqf) and starting (Ibtida’) in the recitation, ensuring that students pause at the appropriate places to maintain the meaning of the text.

Practice:

  • Regular recitation of medium-length Surahs to apply these rules in real-time.

  • Learning advanced makharij focusing on subtle differences between sounds that may confuse learners. Teach advanced articulation points in-depth.
  • Detail rules of Tafkheem and Tarqeeq (Heavy and Light Sounds). Teach which letters are “heavy” and should be pronounced with a fuller sound, and which are light. Practice switching between heavy and light sounds within a single verse.
  • The application of the Qalqalah (echoing sound) and other nuanced pronunciation features
  • Mastering the full range of stops and pauses in recitation to ensure the proper flow of meaning
  • Recitation with fluency and the proper application of all Tajweed rules, including those that are subtle and less frequently used

Practice:

  • Regular recitation of longer Surahs and applying all rules of Tajweed correctly and fluently.
